Condition: Some customers may comment there is a rattle noise from the steering column area while driving on rough roads or over bumps. Some customers may also notice the rattle noise goes away when turning the steering wheel and comes back when going in a straight line.
Cause: The cause of this condition may be tolerances of the cardan joint that is part of the lower intermediate shaft
Correction: Engineering has released a new Intermediate Steering Shaft with an improved design for better performance. Replace the lower intermediate steering shaft. Upon completion of the repair, do a road or static (engine off) test to verify customer concern has been resolved
